1916 Centenerary Commemoration Melbourne

The Embassy of Ireland is pleased to support this event organised by the Culture and Heritage Committee of the Celtic Club, Melbourne.

The commemoration will take place over the afternoon and evening and will begin with a discussion on the significance of the Rising chaired by Dr. Val Noone and including one of the 1916 Relatives. There will be a display of photos, artefacts, memorabilia, art and writings associated with the Rising as well as appropriate music.

Following the discussions, the film Mise Éire will be screened.

That evening, the Celtic Club will host a Dinner with Guest Speaker, former ambassador Richard O’Brien who will talk on the significance of the Easter Rising.

This event aligns with the Ireland 2016 themes of Remember and Celebrate.
