Man dies while snorkelling on Barrier Reef

Police say a tourist died this morning while snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef. Police believe the man suffered a cardiac seizure. He had been snorkeling at Saxon Reef, off the coast off Port Douglas in Far North Queensland.

An Irishman was rescued in Queensland on Friday after a strong rip current forced him into some rocks. The 25-year-old's brother tried to assist him and helped him onto some rocks after he got into trouble just north of Noosa, at Double Island Point.
